re: OSU fans: what is going to happen with Braxton Miller?

JT threw so many perfect deep balls last night.
Hitting guys in stride.
Braxton really struggles with that. And with an offense like Ohio State, you don't really need a QB with the burst and wiggle that Braxton has. You need a solid QB that can distribute.
The fact that JT is so patient and solid and running the ball is just icing on the cake.

I think that is the case with any offense. When you go up against an elite defense and you are not multi-dimensional, it will bite you in the arse. Although your game against MSU last year was probably more about being disciplined (defensive front seven was so young) and not committing unforced penalties than Braxton. He is such a heavy runner.
JT just gives you a bigger margin for error.

I would love for that to happen

Ohio State didn't even play a perfect game last night and coated to a comfortable win. Most of that was due to nearly every play Ohio State called was sucessful. It was pretty unreal.
Everything was there all day.
I don't think Braxton would have been able to exploit the situation like JT did.
I think an offense like Auburn is running QB centered, but I get your point.
JT and Mariota are similar in that they both throw well and run well.
Mariota has more speed and shake, but JT has a burst and is a load to bring down.
They are both so fun to watch. Mariota makes it look so damn easy most of the time. JT made it look easy on Saturday night.
I love college football.

Yep...
We return Stanford, Allen, Carrington, Nelson and hopefully Marshall for WR production and lose just Lowe. Also, Jalen Brown would've played this year had he not gotten hurt in camp.
The oline will return Johnstone, Pierson, Crosby, Bair, Hunt, Pisarcik, Hunt, Brenner all of whom have played extensively (Bair has played in speciality situations but he is now adapting). We get George, Voeller, and Lousi with one more year and our best incoming OL class.
Runningback will be sick.
He would be set up to succeed.

The thing with Mariota is that he has so many new pieces around him - brand spanking new WR core, true frosh RB and an Oline that has had 4 (Johnstone (entire season), Grasu (probably 2 games), Hunt (first game), Fisher (2 games)) of the projected starters out and 3 backups (George (entire year), Pierson (2 games), Lousi (unkown because he fell on depth chart).
ETA: shite - I forgot Andre Y for 8 games. Damn, our oline has been a MASH unit.

This is the first game all year (actually in a long while) where Ohio State's WRs actually won the game. They have been servicable, but haven't had a direct impact.

The question is how will the shoulder heal? There's a possibility that Miller won't be able to throw effectively again. In the case I could see him in the h back/pivot spot for Ohio State next year and he would be a handful.
Hope he has a full recovery.

Yeah, Braxton is so fast and such a heavy runner that is probably his best option. However, you never know if he is dead set on being a qb and wants the qb whisperer to coach him.

If heavy runner means he can leave you grasping at air in a phone booth then yes he is that.

Ohio State and other teams that beat up on jv teams in their weak conferences have always had good skill players.
It has always been the other players, such as linemen and backups, that the SEC was so much better in, and hence, why Ohio State got their arse whipped a couple times in a row by the SEC. (Win against Arkansas is bogus, as most of those players should have been suspended snd got to play)

Thanks for the insight. That was an incredible contribution to the thread. We are all so much more intelligent now.

Some teams off the top of my head that would be in line to take him if he wanted to transfer to chase a NC (departing QB, talented returning roster, spread offense):
Oregon
Ole Miss
Baylor
FWIW this is just for shits and giggles - I think most expect him to stay @ tOSU.

I got word Thursday night that Braxton is going to be a Duck. We will see how reliable the source (ex player) is.

That is cruel joke if you aren't serious.

No joke, brah. Would be sweet as hell if we met up in the playoff next year. Hopefully he can stay healthy for you guys

I'm calling BS on that rumor. I highly doubt he's made up his mind in the middle of the season and is openly communicating it to people while the Buckeyes are on the verge of winning the Big Ten.
