Right, and thats why Miles has more come from behind 4th quarter wins than anyone else in college football,

Thats exactly his point. If we could "put away" a team, we would'nt NEED all of thses come from behind wins.

Thats why Miles has more come from behind 4th quarter wins than anyone else in college football, by a mile. Its because he, the rest of the staff, and the players have no clue how to "seal the deal".
I wonder if anybody ever wonders *WHY* all those come from behind victories happen for CLM and LSU in the 4th quarter. Could it be that it's because in the first 3 quarters, CLM has LSU plodding along, eating clock, and looking all "Big Ten" like. Missing ingredient - scoring early and often, so the 4th quarter can be less cardiac and crucial. I mean, what if LSU had not had all those 3 and outs and wasted possessions versus Alabama in the first half. What if LSU had actually scored points on even a third of them at home?

Sorry but tl/dr. I will give my opinion though.

Still try to achieve goal of another 10 win season
Encourage a few key upperclassman to return for Senior year
Put in extra work on passing game in spring and offseason
Bring in another top 10 recruting class
Start 2015 season in top 5 with high expectations

Compose equals coaching. That is CLM in a nutshell.

Not a coach either, but a long-term LSU fan since Dietzel days. I think the problem you've named is the major problem and difference between an Alabama as they are now and LSU as the Tigers are. The Alabama coaches "get it" and that is instilled into the psyche, the culture, of their teams. The LSU coaches "don't get it" and so there is no sense of that idea (of sealing the deal, making those key plays at key moments, being opportunistic...) to spread to the team. Our coaches don't seem to think that way. The overarching philosophy seems more like plod, plod, plod - keep the mistakes down - don't innovate - be safe and eat the clock. Scoring is just incidental.

I would agree with that if I'd not seen this offense last year with Mettenberger at the qb. I think they DO want to score in bunches but, when you have the situation we have with youth.........especially at the qb........you get what we're getting. I really don't think that we'll be a team that just "plods along" next season. I expect the offense will look similar to what it did last year. But the question still remains........................would we still lack that "killer instinct" that Alabama seems to possess?

Like an Aggie cousin of mine said last nite during the game...

"If y'all had a QB, no one could beat you"...

And I think he is right...

Take the handcuffs off of BH6 the rest of the season and let him get his feet wet...AJ10 will never be any better than he has been this season, and that sucks, to say the least...he is the reincarnation of JJ...

Get your head out your arse CLM and get our team ready for a title run net year...We are bowl eligible, the next two wins are not going to do anything for us, if we don't get better play from the QB position...

Do you think this offense will be captained by Jennings or Harris? If Les stays the course, Jennings will be our man and there is no way in hell he runs an offense that any way shape or form resembles last year.

Just wait till Arkansas beats a unemotional LSU team this Saturday. LSU has nothing to play for now. going through the motions next weekend.

I think you might be right. LSU is in big trouble going to Arkansas. This season is going to end ugly.

I'll never predict us to win against Bama again as long as Saban is there

I will admit that I'm a little leary about this Arkansas game. With a team as young as ours, it's definitely possible that we come out flat................compounding our problem.

So to make you happy LSU should have this huge lead going into the 4th quarter on every team they play?

Where did you get those mushrooms?

What Gary Patterson did with his offense in the offense should be examined closely. He realized his offensive philosophy had to change to compete for championships. The transformation has been dramatic this season and TCU is in position to make the playoff.

When we were bumbling along with JJ, I told a friend and co-worker, "If LSU had Kellen Moore, they'd win about 40 in a row"

Actually TCU is a pretty good example. Lets see what happens in the near future. I don't think the fanbase is holding out much hope though.
