Science needs to step it up. Some NASA shite. Someone somehow can make something that you can put on that will never allow you to be cold. Come on someone please make this and I will buy it.

How warm is that UA speed get up, like in freezing temps?

Anyone tried them thermo cell sole inserts?

I have not found anything that offers more warmth with less bulk than polartec fleece...
what I use is Redhead E.C.W.S military grade thermal underwear...costs about $20 for top and the same for the bottoms and when I cover it with my normal hunting clothes and a windproof shell, I can handle 25 degrees and wind on a deer stand with no problem....throw on a quad parka and a set of neoprene waders and I can stand in ice water up to my waist for hours without an issue...and the best part is, you can also wear it under decent clothes to football games, etc and stay toasty warm too...
as for hands and feet, I use the disposable hand/foot warmers (hot hands) in gloves and boots and they work well...but you have to get the right ones or they will make you sweat...

I haven't used it in those temps yet. I bought it all last week. I wore it over the weekend, in the mid 40s, with a Long sleeve T and was comfortable.
- I'm mostly concerned with my cold gear Evo base layer. I think I will return it and order some 3.0

I wore my UA Cold Gear leggings, 1 normal camo pants, and these bibs for my lower body. Upper body was UA Cold Gear, long sleeve shirt, hoodie, thick camo jacket.
Which cold gear leggings do you have? I have the top and bottom like this LINK but I'm unsure if them vs. the 3.0

Merino wool is best base layer. Smart wool is my choice socks too. After that it's personal choice lots of good suggestions

That's my second choice but with LA temps I'm thinking 3.0 @ $75/piece vs wool at $110/piece; I'm thinking should be more than enough
ETA: I built each outfit at cabelas. The First Lite wool mid weight is $41 more than the UA 3.0. Not as bad as I thought

Mother nature wins again = goose down.
Get you a good 800 or higher fill goose down jacket by a good company like marmot and use it over the base layers and under a closer fitting, wind breaking jacket.
