Sorry, but I'm going to agree with the other mom. Your statement is just dripping with heteronormative cisbigotry. You should've said something more along the lines of, "your teacher and his or her spouse/life partner/tinder match chose, or didn't, to get pregnant, and that referring to the fetus as a baby is a hate crime." If she had any other questions you should have referred her to jezebel.com.
