Agreed. I enjoy the chaos and find it interesting that some scenarios could serve to test the the "conference champion" theory in the first year of the new system. State and Auburn (or Ole Miss) winning out is unlikely, though.
Our fan base bitched about the non conference champion that was awarded a slot in the 2011 BCSNCG. So, for purposes of consistency, I won't bellyache about it , but would find a similar result interesting this year given that it seems the committee has set this up for the conference champions with the thought that the SEC West gauntlet would all but eliminate the possibility of two SEC teams getting in the playoff.

It's quite clear that because they have nothing to keep them in check or accountable, they can make decisions based on whatever formula gets them what they want
For instance they say there is a large emphasis on head to head, which seems to hold true for the most part until you see the large difference in spots between Oregon and Arizona and TCU and Baylor
