ONLY a brainwashed Aggie could love the "figs with the rags". Dear Lord, they suck as a "tradition"!

what about corn dogs?
We all agree on that, right?

I agree with all of the traditions mentioned here that we do NOT have....but it was game, set, and match when Texas A&M was mentioned. What a weird bunch of cultish oddballs they have over there.
I will say this though...going to an Auburn game and watching the eagle fly in right before kickoff is pretty cool.

What makes me so glad to not be an Ole Miss fan is that they're obnoxiously prideful, but they haven't won anything. They're like Bama without a record. I feel bad dumping on them though after we just beat them.
Eta: At least they haven't won much since the early sixties.

Colonel Reb is no more. Political correctness killed him.
I hate the Webels but I also can't help but feel a bit sorry for them because of how just about every one of their traditions has been taken away. No more Colonel Reb, no more Dixie, no more anything even remotely associated with the confederacy.
I remember going to Oxford in 2003 and them asking LSU fans to wear purple and gold stickers that said "Mike supports Colonel Reb" because they were fighting to save their mascot.

I am very appreciative of having a live mascot. I am even more that we do it right. Beautiful enclosure, top notch vet school and care staff. I just wish he could be at the games next to the visitor tunnel like he used to and roar over the loud spreakers.
I get it PETA and pusses have a loud mouth (excuse the pun) but man seeing auburn have a live eagle is badass. Of course it's not their real mascot but a convenient cool one.

I would say ours are more subtle, but nonetheless, are deeply rooted and meaningful, like the Chinese Bandit song after a defensive stop, spelling anything that ends in '-o' with '-eaux', and even our tailgating.
I like it that way.

LSU cheerleaders still yell the 2 bits cheer pretty often.

I still don't understand why a recruit, particularly an African American recruit, would choose to spend their 3/4 years of college in Oxford, College Station or Tuscaloosa.

I feel the zombie nation and 7 nation army "traditions" are unoriginal and played out.
Can't really say I understand the Oregon motorcycle thing either

I was thinking about that today. If somehow we were Ole Miss, complete with Goldilocks and Katy Perry and the whole landshark/black bear (or whatever weird perversions having nothing to do with Tigers) thing, I don't think I could handle it.
Also, this isn't in reference to Ole Miss particularly, but I'm glad our band knows more than one song. It drives me nuts to hear the same little jingle repeatedly. Oklahoma and Florida are two examples that stick out. 5 yards on first down, same jingle, stop the other team, same jingle. Also how many teams do the third-down "before the bell tolls" thing? That's so cliche.
Another one... "o o o o o o o o, o o o o o o o", what does that have to do with Penn St.? At least it makes some sense for Oregon.

Lsu does have a ton of tradition. But the one I hate to see go is brining mike to the games. I know it doesn't really affect the game but I used to love watching the cage drive around the stadium during pregame and stop in front of the student section. I fear we may never see that again and it's a damn shame.

It has historical tradition and based off of what Mississippi State is known for academically, or were founded as its not that bad. Just one of the most annoying things, I lived in Mississippi and went to high school with State guys/gals, even they admit its pretty bumfrick but tradition is tradition. Not like Ole Piss who let random things like a landshark (whatever the frick that is) or an animal from a book as your new official mascot because your institution is too scared to stand up to political correctness and call it for what it is.
If someone seriously tried to say LSU had to change our official mascot that person probably can never step foot into the state of LA again.

Finger or hand signs. Texas, A&M, TCU everybody from the old Southwest Conference HAD to have some dorky hand sign. Texas started it and all of the me toos came up with something. I saw Oregon doing it last week. We don't do any of that shite.

I agree.
On a sidenote, someone in our parish shot and killed a bald eagle near the lake. Guess they felt it was getting too big for its 'endangered' britches.
