The first is that you can't load it without the detachable magazine in it. This means you have to keep up with another component of the gun to operate it. A new magazine is $70 from Amazon.

You can't remove the live round from the chamber and insert it into the magazine while the magazine is attached due to the top rail of the gun. I can do this with my A-Bolt. This means you have to remove the magazine from the gun to unload it properly, which takes me back to my first complaint above.

Other than that, I love the gun. It shoots great and handles even better.

Do it and don't look back. While the mag and loaded issues 4lsu pointed out are valid, the smoothness and accuracy more the make up for it.

For the op though, if I already had a 30-06, I'd go with 7-08 to have something lighter.
