Enjoy the increased property taxes if buying a house Add that shite to everything else that goes up yearly.

If you're 35 or younger, you'd love an area called South Tampa, near Bayshore Drive. The entire Tampa Bay area is great, on south thru St. Pete, Palmetto, Bradenton, Sarasota. Just hug the coast and move south - it just gets better.

Lots and lots of retirement age people, along the Gulf side, it's mostly Midwestern culture (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin). But further south and east you go, toward the Atlantic side you'll notice more and more people from up East - NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA. Few native Floridians to be found.

But that being said, there are loads of young families settling around - just a little east of Bradenton/Sarasota is a newish town called "Lakewood Ranch. And another called Parrish. Young families galore and nice properties, newer houses, uncluttered subdivisions, good schools.
