The right, being fairly new at it, just isn't as good at fear mongering as the left:
"Please, please don't elect Barry Goldwater [mushroom cloud]"
"Reagan is going to start WWIII"
"Reagan is starving children"
"Republicans going to put y'all back in chains"
"Republicans going to push grandma in her wheelchair off a cliff"
"Republicans want to repeal the 1964 CRA"
Rinse, repeat. Y'all are just too good at it. The right is like a junior varsity team of fear mongerers compared to the Democrat party since, roughly, 1964.

No Ace, they were just smarter than Pubs and figured out it was easier just to buy votes and to change minds and opinions.
