Yeah, I don't know whether it was decided that this hospital would get the first one or not. There are a number of hospitals in the city that have the facilities and training.

THP in Dallas "had the facilities and training".
Since our dumbass CDC Director made the dumbass statement that "any facility in the country capable of caring for infectious disease was capable of caring for Ebola," fortunately the CDC has backtracked.

About 20 facilities in the country were initially designated as "Ebola Centers". Apparently that list has expanded over the past week. NY officials now say there are eight designated centers in NY state.
Although CDC has not released the complete list of the selected facilities. Of interest, there are apparently just four U.S. hospitals with top-level biocontainment facilities, and three of them have already treated Ebola cases. The fourth is in Missoula, Montana. Presumably Bellevue was chosen as an "Ebola Center" d/t its long history of TB treatment and familiarity.
