The Longhorns

It's a collection of short stories and the history of Texas Longhorn cattle. It begins with the Spanish Explorers who bought the cattle to the Americas. Then it carries the history through real cowboys and their relationship with the cattle on trail drives of the 1800's(i.e. The Chisolm Trail, Dodge City, KS). All the way to a point of near extinction around the turn of the century up until the 1950's.
It's not as outdoorsy, but it's a darn interesting read if you are in to old west history. It's a manly book...
