Had the same issue in my 05. The bushing in the blower motor wears out and let's the shaft bind. Nothing you can do to fix it, have to replace the blower motor. They can be found for about $100 online and very easy to change yourself.
It's located under the dash on the passenger side, didn't have to remove any covers on mine. I think it was 3 screws to drop the blower and it's 1 plug. Literally took less than 20 minutes.
