Loved the first, was pretty underwhelmed by then 2nd.
Its most likely a gamefly for me.
Even though I only played the 2nd on console (1st on PC), I feel like they dumbed it down quite a bit for the consoles...maybe that is just me.

I always hear the opposite. I tried the first and couldn't handle the terrible controls so I quit.

Hmmm. I'm pretty sure they developed Witcher 2 only for PC and then ported it to 360 a year or so after the fact. Would have taken some serious foresight to dumb it down for consoles with that development plan.
