Not true at all. People, in general, don't know or care much about baseball anymore.

I would be willing to bet that more people - today - could tell you that Peyton Manning is the all-time TD leader than could tell you Barry Bonds is the all-time HR leader. Bonds is an afterthought.

ETA: I'm not saying TDs are more prestigious, or not. I'm just saying your justification for HRs being more prestigious (i.e., that more people know about it) is not true.

That's just because Peyton just broke it. Plenty of people didn't know Favre had the record before this week.

If Alex Rodriguez was breaking Bonds' record right now, everyone would know about it.

Well no shite, it happened 12 hours ago. A lot of the adults I talk to at work had no idea who the old TD leader was, but most new BB was the all time leader in homeruns

Well yeah, I mean it's only on every news station and in every paper and on every website this morning. That might have something to do with it. Good call.
