The problem is that if after Election Day, it's clear that Republicans can't win the Senate, then Landrieu's "clout" argument becomes far more powerful.

If Republicans have either won the Senate or can still do it after Election Day, you're right, Cassidy should be fine. But there's still a risk.

If after the last debate Maness is not polling over 15%, my hope is he would do the sensible thing and drop out.
