Couple of general iOS questions

Just got my iPhone and have been on android since before honeycomb. Two questions for people on iOS
Is there a way to set gmail to push through the mail app? Like it better than the official Gmail app, but only seems to let me use "fetch" every 15 minutes
What's the best reddit client IYO? I was using reddit sync and bacon reader before that. Would prefer something close to reddit sync

Settings > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > Fetch New Data > (your gmail account) > 'Select Push / Fetch / Manual
* At the screen after "Fetch new data" you can select "Push" to have ALL email accounts pushed. I answered specifically for the one gmail account as the method lets you decide which accounts are fetched v pushed
I do not go on reddit, so no info there

Sorry should have clarified. I rather quickly figured out the general process to set up push, but I only have fetch/manual options. Didn't know if I did something wrong or gmail is not supported for push in general. (Only shows fetch/manual)
For comparison, here are the iCloud options (shows push/fetch/manual)
just wondering if there may be anything else to change to enable actual push gmail
Eta: still figuring out imgur on iOS

Unfortunately, Google never supported push for IMAP. You used to be able to setup your gmail as an exchange account but Google discontinued support for exchange in 2011.
So the only way is to forward your emails to iCloud, outlook, etc or use the gmail app that nobody likes.
ETA: I just capitulated and went with 15 min fetch. I'm getting tired of that though and will likely start using outlook for personal email.

I like the iOS Mail app better than the Gmail one, but for some reason it only lets me mass "archive" and not actually delete mail. I can manually move it to the trash and then empty it but that's a pain.
I had an Outlook account on there for awhile that I never had that problem with. So I don't know.

Go to Settings>Mail>Gmail>Account>Advanced
There's a section there that allows you to specify where discarded emails go.
ETA: Google doesn't want you deleting emails ever, so gmail archives everything by default.

Okay thanks. This is what I kinda figured and was looking to have answered.
The iOS Mail app is just so much smoother than Gmail for iOS, so it kinda disappoints me. I really love the landscape version of mail for the 6+

Regarding gmail on iOS, I've gotten used to Gmail sorting out social and promotion emails and suffer through their app to keep that functionality. Is there a way to use the stock mail app and still do that?

I'd like to try it if it's got a trial version. But it's getting slaughtered in the most recent reviews.
