Posted a week or so ago that we were getting a labradoodle. We have a 2 yr old and just wondering if y'all had advice for letting the 2 yr old play with and handle the pup. Any dos and dont's will be greatly appreciated.

Just let them play.

And get a kennel and kennel train. When the dog is in the kennel the 2yr old needs to leave the dog alone.

Kennel train, buy a kennel that they can grow into make sure it has a divider - when you first start don't give them any more room than they need to get in turn around and lay down. I wouldn't put anything in the kennel except maybe a blanket definitely nothing with stuffing in it, you don't want them to associate the kennel with play time.

Let the puppy and your 2yr old have at - my oldest son has Down syndrome and was terrified of any kind of animal, the 2 are inseparable now it is pretty amazing the bond a puppy and kid have and what it grows into.

Good luck and have fun

Every 4 hours or within 45 minutes it's going to have to take a leak. If you always take it out of the kennel and on to the grass to leak it will become accustomed to doing so and house breaking will never be an issue
