What I meant was it looked like they said Durel went out at around the 30 when he clearly went out at the 25..15 yard penalty I thought would have been the 10

Take the penalty. Multiply the distance X 2, and then see if the ball is inside of that yard line. If so, it is half the distance.

So, if it was a 15 yarder instead of half the distance, the ball is spotted at the 11 instead of the 13. I did not think it was was that big of a deal even though it was correctly spotted.

ETA: Think about it. If that were the way the rule worked, then a 15 yard penalty enforced at the 16-yard line would be placed at the 1. But a 15 yard penalty from the 14 would be spotted at the 7.

Well, since you're being so receptive to the constructive criticism, I should add that it's "the ball is placed at...", not "ball is place at...", and also "...all their lives..." , not "....all there lives..."

Lol I'm on my phone man and trying to watch true detective at the same time. I'm not paying attention to my grammar obviously. Gees you guys are tough.. I really didn't understand the rule either. I really thought I saw something that was missed but knew I could come here with it for an answer, but damn I'm sorry I wasted everyone's time lol.

SIAP and apologize in advance for not knowing all of the rules of CFB like most do on this board. But since we're on the topic of huge official mastakes, why wasn't our timeout given back to us at the 2:00 mark of the 4th quarter when the Florida player was injured? Sure, we called timeout just prior to the official calling the injury timeout-but they should've put that one back on the board right?
