Yeah, people were unfairly targeting Welter's play.
Just note, no touchdowns up the middle of 40+ yards. In fact, just for fun, outside of Debose's rush, the longest rush in the game was 10 yards. I'd say massive improvement. If you want to put the Debose rush on Beckwith, fine. You'd also have to acknowledge that if Beckwith couldn't make that play, there's no way Welter could have.

That play is a result of Chavis recruiting linebacker sized defensive ends.

Food for thought: I am pretty sure Welter was in for the last two drives. They went nowhere. On the previous 4 drives, Florida scored twice.
Beckwith will be good, maybe even great. I am thinking that he will be a great pro. But he is a big guy who has to learn a lot about coverages and get a lot of agility outside of forward movement.
