I suppose if they had used Tallahassee as an example of a larger issue pertaining to college athletics, and not implied that it's an isolated case, I would trust the NY Times's motives more.


The NY Times has a national audience. Washington Post, LA Times, etc. do as well. If you're dismissing their article because you think they only service one city then I can't help you.
