Expecting good things from Quarterman this season

not expecting him to become a long-range threat overnight, but when he's on the floor with the second unit he should have a better feel for how to play at this level heading into his soph year.
i would assume he will be on the floor with one of gray/hornsby most of the time, which should give him some space to penetrate and (hopefully) kick out to the perimeter. he was guilty of trying to do way too much at times as a frosh last year, but much more talent on the perimeter should work to his advantage. from what i've heard, the intensity in practice has been good and tim is excelling defensively, which isnt a surprise given his length.
he hit a bit of a wall last year and had some difficulties off the court, but he's a guy to watch this year IMO.

Agreed. I'm hearing he has improved his strength as well which will help. Gray and Hornsby are both scorers so there should be little pressure on Quarterman to do more than play solid D and distribute when he's in, given the wealth of talent in the front court. Bridgewater will be a pleasant surprise for those who have not seen him. Guy's a bigger, stronger version of Coleman.

He can be a good PG but he has to learn to not shoot much at all. He reminds me of a Garrett Temple type player but Temple learned how to keep his shooting under control because he could never shoot either.

I like what he brings to this team. No, he's never going to be a guy who you rely on to score from outside, but his size and skill set give LSU some interesting line up options.
Obviously he can play PG. However, at 6'6" you can stick him at the 3 and still keep Gray and Hornsby on the court. TQ as basically a point/forward allows both guards to play without the ball. Also, if LSU wants to run, you'll have 4 guys on the court who are comfortable handling the ball (Gray, Hornsby, TQ, Martin) Finally, you don't lose much on D because he's tall enough to guard most college 3's.
A Mickey/Martin/Gray/Quarterman/Hornsby line up could present some big time match-up issues for just about every team in the SEC
