I've applied for a shite ton of usda jobs, never heard back from any of them, even if I called to check on the hiring status, they never returned my calls.
Several of them have been in Louisiana actually.

Sorry to hear that. It takes a shite ton of time for them to go through their hiring processes. I've been called in for on sites twice but then took other positions before they contacted me again with further interest...so I've never worked for the USDA.
I'm a vet...maybe that got me through some of their earlier screening (although with a professional position it isn't supposed to matter).
I'm telling you...if you just want to earn some jack to keep afloat while career positions come available you should come to Houston.
Where at in M'sippi? I spent some time in H'burg.
