The money that WM saves as a result of this change is likely a drop in the bucket for them yearly due to their massive volume, but it's significant for share holders long-term growth/income investment when calculated out over time. WM is not innocent in this scenario. These large corps know that the new plan will crush competition and therefore increase their volume without a true reinvestment. It's obvious that they're saving money by cutting benefits, the PT workers are getting subsidies so they are saving money. So if everybody is saving money on a more expensive product it's likely too good to be true. That's where the large block of tax paying middle class people get screwed again. Keep tapping that well and the system will spiral eventually.
