I can get past Roth being Shaw. But yeah, they basically do have the same personalities and backstories. 
I think Nyssa and Laurel are gonna be hanging together for a little. I think they both have daddy issues and have to grieve over a love one (although two totally different kinds of love). I wonder if Nyssa will end up training Laurel further. That would actually be kind of a cool twist, and make Laurel's future skills more believable.

am I the only one who was not looking forward to this.
fricking write your own stories and quit stealing from one of the most iconic comic book characters ever created. Next thing you know Nyssa will drug him and frick him to create an heir. Then they will replace Roy with the kid and then no more Parkour flips, and series goes in the tank!
