I think Evans has to have some lingering injury. He's always been fit, kept his conditioning up every season, and has played all-pro for years until last year when he got a hamstring/ankle(?) and a lower back injury.
His dropoff is intense and if it can't be remedied, the business side of it tells me we have to have him reconsider his contract or cut him...
2015: 11.0mil cap hit (5.0 mil dead money; 6.0mil savings)
2016: 10.2mil cap hit (1.5 mil dead money; 8.7mil savings)
His base contract is 6.8mil. Technically, we could convince him to take roughly a 5mil pay cut to get 1.8mil. Similar to Bunkley's pay cut this year (4.4mil->1.3mil)
