Alright Marco.... Spoke with a guy named Dave Masson at overture. Only one they have left at $699 is the floor model. He says everything is guaranteed and full warranty. I asked him about the cart and he said its in perfect working order.
Secondly, he said that he could maybe work out a little something on a brand new one if I decide against the floor model. He couldn't promise it, but said he could try.
What you think?
I looked at the numbers: Carbon/Lehman- approx $760
: nomad floor- $699
: nomad new- $995; if they knock off 20% $796
Not sure... Maybe call back and see what they could do on the new one?

Places like Overture aren't like BestBuy...you don't have complete moron customers just walking up and playing with the audio gear. The table was probably set up in a system in a dedicated room, and when someone wanted to hear it, the sales person would probably operate the system.
Keep in mind, places like overture sell systems north of $300k, so the clientele that is in there usually are audio geeks that not only know the gear and how to operate it, but also respect the pieces of the retailer.
You should be fine with either option. The cartridge may have 100 hours on it--no big deal. Carts are good for about 2-3000 hours of play before they begin to wear out.
