Any tips to cleaning 40 yr old albums that my father in law gave me? The covers have the spots inside the sleeve too? I cleaned with groove washer g2 cleaner. Anything else I could clean with?

Looks like they’ve been exposed to moisture and you’re dealing with mold and mildew.I typically put a drop of dish detergent in a bowl and fill it with hot water. Get a steady stream of hot water from the faucet and rinse the record in a circular pattern avoiding the labels. Then I did a sponge in the bowl and clean both sides going along the grooves. After that rinse well. Then dry.
Also use a damp paper towel on the jacket if it has the same problem. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t, but it will at least get off any dust or dirt.

If he gave you a large amount of records 50 or more, it might be worth investing in one of the cheaper ultrasonic cleaners off Amazon. Proabbaly worth it anyway cause that is gonna be about the best way to clean them deeply.
