the upper middle class. those with enough capital (10M+) are completely mobile.

Those with wealth less than that are a lot less mobile, but they could still get out.

its the people that "seem" rich to others, the ones that drive luxury cars, live in 500k houses, take nice vacations.

They will not have enough mobility to get out themselves and assets out of the country during a transition like this (think argentina), and will become commoners.

Its a very real scenario, but its pretty simple to protect yourself if you are aware.
