I know two different people that this happened to.

Both kids lived. Well one is still really young, but she's doing much better. She's still being home schooled due to immune system issues, but the school system comes by and checks in on her. She's way ahead of the other kids her age, even though she's on a ton of meds and has issues with short term memory.

In the other case, the parents spoiled the kid rotten and didn't teach him a thing. Now he's a grown man who will never be able to live on his own even though health wise he's fine. His family says he's "slow" due to the treatments he went through. That's BS. He's slow because they raised him to be an idiot.

And I sort of think that if you treat a kid like the worse is going to happen, it will. That's why you should never give your daughter a name that she could use while dancing for dollars.

Yeah, I know plenty of home schooled kids. The stereotypes are there, but it is only for about 33% of them. My neighbors were homeschooled and they were about the most fricked up family ever. We also have friends who took their son out of school because he was "autistic" which I guess is another term for little a-hole.

Conversely, my daughter's boyfriend was homeschooled for years because he was white and went to a school in the ghetto where he was treated like shite. He went to Magnet High for four years though. He has some of those homeschool attributes.

One of the best families I've known were all homeschooled. They took little theater with my kids. Great and well adjusted kids.

there are horror stories and success stories with every thing.

OP. I hope your kid gets better. As long as you are determined to be a part of her education and you aren't a shut in, you'll be fine. If you are awful parents, home schooling won't fix your kids.
