Look, revoking scholarships, suspending, expelling - that's all administrative stuff and I can't argue with a bunch of by-laws that I don't know.

I'm certain he can be charged because anyone can be charged with practically anything - that's not news.

I do think he was assaulted by the coach - plain and simple.

It's also true that I think his treatment in its totality is out of proportion to his indiscretion.

The worst part of this is they revoke his housing I assume.

He wasn't.

Yes, the coach body slammed him, but the guy was in the midst of commission of a crime. He ran up on an innocent party, who has the right to defend himself using reasonable force. Well, it appears the kid has no major injuries, so it would be nigh on impossible to argue he used excessive force. The coach is also only allowed to use force so long as the threat is ongoing, which it was. The kid would have a case if the coach then started kicking him when he was prone on the ground.

If this kid sues for assault, he's going to lose, and he's going to lose badly.
