No one remembers the greatest regular season in 2011. All they remember is us getting embarrassed by Alabama in the National Title Game.
I really like Les as a person. He is a good man, funny, cares about other people. But Les the football coach drives me crazy sometimes. He is stubborn, slow to make changes or game adjustments. Time management is still ridiculous - a delay of game penalty on a kickoff? Come on who else does that. Why doesn't he just get some grad student from the Math dept and have him keep track of the time for him?
As for appreciation, I think he gets plenty of that, for instance your post. He receives an enormous salary for what he does and has all the staff and facilities anyone could dream of. It's a job, Saban proved that. Les would have left and gone to Michigan if the conditions would have been right.
He knows he had a sweet deal here with what I mentioned above and the best high school football in Louisiana and East Texas to recruit from. He's not leaving whether you march for him or not.
