Rodgers passer rating is artifically elevated by the fact that he takes so many sacks. Other QB's like Manning and Brees get rid of the ball, which leads to more interceptions and a lower TD:INT ratio. But is also leads to a higher 3rd down conversion percentage, a far, far lower sack percentage, and ultimately more wins because you have to take chances in the NFL to succeed.
I don't quite understand this logic. First of all, you fail to differentiate "taking a sack" from "getting sacked." Although QBs play a role in getting sacked, there are many other variables at play, , the quality of the offensive line being the most obvious. Furthermore, Aaron Rodgers has an extremely quick release so he has an personal attribute that would limit the number of sacks.
In addition, although a sack rate is a useful statistic, unless you account for the style of the QB, then it isn't a completely valid comparison between QBs. For example, although he has played far fewer years, Aaron Rodgers has 1590 rushing yards compared to 692 for Peyton Manning and 625 for Drew Brees. A QB that is more likely to run when facing an intense pass rush will be more likely to get sacked as well.
Finally, I think it is pretty clear that passer rating and QBR have flaws like any other statistic; however, QBR is based on a flawed premise that tries to do too much. Basically it is less useful. Furthemnore, you mentioned Pro Football Focus and their quick explanation and examples of QB stats (LINK ) keeps showing Aaron Rodgers as a top performer.
Basically, I think it is safe to say that most metric shows that Aaron Rodgers is an exceptional quarterback.
