This is a great question. It does seem like this happens quite often. The coaches claim the OL is going to be great, and then the season starts and it hardly ever pans out. The LSU OL has had a history of improving during the season, though. Not always, but sometimes.
I was one of those guys praising Grimes, but so far the production under his tutelage hasn't been very good.

I have no basis for praising Grimes. Hopefully, it's just transitional growing pains. The guy does have a solid resume.
