re: Pam Beesly or Karen Filippelli?

In college, I got to intern with the US State Department and I worked at the US Mission to the OECD. Anyway, my boss, the ambassador to the OECD, was Karen Kornbluh (also known as the Obama brain). She had all the staff over at her place for a party. I got to meet her husband. He introduced himself as Jim Halpert. I was in utter shock. He then told me about how Greg Daniels was his best friend as a kid and Greg named the character Jim after him.

Another friend of theirs, who was jealous that he didn't get a character named after them, begged for a character. After awhile Greg Daniel's got annoyed and named a character after him. He promised to make him the most annoying character on the show. That character was Andy Bernard.

I always wondered if KF was named after Jim's wife in real life.
