Just find a dentist that knows what he is doing and you'll be alright.

Endodontists also don't have 100% success rate. Sometimes nurses patients die too.

No need to get defensive.


The dentist I went to was a great dentist...he just wasn't the best at root canals. I would still go to him if he hadn't moved out of state.


I just wouldn't have him perform a root canal. Not all root canals are simple. Having to sit in a chair for 4 hours with your mouth open because you have really deep roots and he's not sure if he got deep enough into the tooth root should not be a root canal experience. He should have referred me to an endodontist then and there.

I mean, that would require you or I know how to correctly do a root canal in order for us to actually know of a dentis knows how to do a root canal.

Just go to an endo. Nothing is ever a sure bet...sometimes root canals can get infected and you have to go again to get the same painless procedure.

I love how people say "Find a dentist that knows what he's doing" as if they actually know what is correct and what isn't.
