My regular dentist did mine. Told me it would be quick and smooth if there were no complications such as crooked roots or pulp stones. Half an hour later he is calling other dentists and hygenists in to look at my pulp stones. Fifteen minutes after that he was cursing my twisty roots. That being said...

It took an hour and a half due to my complications. No pain whatsoever during. My jaw was tired from remaining open so long, despite the brace they put in to hold it open. I became a little claustrophobic as he was moving fast so the anesthesia would not wear off and was right in my face a lot. Back tooth. Porcelain crown. Never a moment's bother since. $600 after insurance. (My dentist is too expensive.)

Husband had one a year later. Different dentist. Molar. NO issues. Went back to work after. $400

Neither of us needed the pain meds.

It is not the hell it used to be.
