What would you have them do?

no reason at all for

* people not allowed to go to their homes
* armored vehicles
* army hats/helmets and camo
* military rifles

search for the guy the same way they would search for any other suspected murderer....it's not that complicated. Penn is not Iraq requiring assault rifles and army gear. New Orleans may be, but the Penn countryside is not.

Can you really not see the danger in a local police force acting this way only as a result of 'one of their own' getting shot? The mentality is that of an occupying army, not a local police force.

From what I have heard from residents who live there, they are happy to have the police presence and want this guy caught post haste.

The difference is this guy isn't just a cop killer, he's a cop assassin. He didn't shoot a cop in a robbery-gone-bad scenario, he targeted them as they sat in a squad car.

Any man who will shoot cops sitting in a car has the capability of just about anything else. Who is to say he won't take a school hostage or invade a home?

When you assassinate a cop, you don't just attack that person, you attack the government, law and order of society.

I hope this coward doesn't even get his day in court and decides to go out in a gun battle, with him being the only casualty of course.

A lot of people actually trust police officers. I absolutely do not. Cops shouldn't be deploying assault rifles against the people they are serving.
