Thread from 2010 about this very issue

quote:

seemed like every non-shotgun snap was i-form twins almost

and even in the shotgun, the playcalls heavily relied on lee passing to the 2-WR side

you could take that very thread, take out lee, and put in jennings and you'd sum up last night as well

last night i speculated that we're using this formation because jennings can't run a D and this is a simple way to diagnose man-zone more easily. i could be wrong, and i'm willing to listen to other suggestions

also, this shows that we're still running the "les miles" offense and not the [insert OC] offense

and moving forward, as i posted after the ULM game, we wasted that entire game working on offense. do y'all think we will waste the NMSU game as well? how often will we see i-form with 1-2 TE? how many times will we see twins?

he likes to play power football. problem is out QB's are suited for the spread especially Harris. AJ is a gam manager with limited abilities. To fix this thing, Les has to get over himself and his desire to play Big 10 football in the SEC.

Should try this, might be a bit more spread then we've been

I think it goes without saying that miles has trust issues with his QBs. And when he does we line in the I....all the fricking time.

Here's the bad part, if our Oline wouldn't play like hot garbage it wouldn't be a terrible thing.

2011 made Les feel that he could sit on the ball for 2 quarters at a time and wait for the defense and/or special teams to ignite momentum. He really thought that Alabama played the same way. Bama was always way more balanced than us. They would pass early to keep you honest, then unleash Richardson, and then Yeldon the next year.

LSU almost exclusively used that formation when they ran over Oregon. No one complained then, but the talent level was so far above the one now.

If AJ is a game manager as you say then why is he getting 11 carries vs MSU?
