Sounds like a pretty typical chick, honestly. I know there are rare exceptions, but at least she isn't racking up 150K in law school debt when the market is saturated, or worse yet still living off her parents at 24. I'd talk to her about it if it bothers you, but it could be a LOT worse.

Her debt will be your debt if you marry. Just a reminder.

ETA: Also, I'm sure she knew she got paid vacation. She just didn't want to pick up groceries because she either spent the money elsewhere or she has the "my money is mine" attitude.

I screwed up with money big time in my 20s(racked up a lot of credit card debt while in college...back then it was easy to sign up for credit cards).

I'd say her behavior isn't something you would want her to continue longterm. But it isn't like her situation is hopeless.

When you first start getting real paychecks...it's easy to want to do the things you couldn't afford to do while broke in college. I remember buying extravagant Christmas presents for my family that first Christmas when I was a nurse. I had the money to do so and wanted to splurge. Just have a lil chat with her. She's single, no kids and her only responsibility is to herself right now. She'll figure it out. Don't be the guy that watches every penny she spends. Then she will just end up leaving you and go even crazier with the spending.

Wish I could have told myself back then to watch out.

$650 for rent is not a lot IMO

Also her debt is very small. There are plenty of people with 100ks of debt. Sounds like she handled herself well during college or her parents helped a lot.

What the hell dude...

I'd talk to her about it....if you guys gets married a lot of churches have you go on a marriage encounter and a lot of that is gone over. You must be equally yoked especially with finances or ahits real. A large reason people split is fricking finances

But seriously, if you are as serious as you say you are, and you are worried about things like how much she pays for rent, why don't you move in together? That way she wouldn't have to spend $650/month on rent. You aren't going to find a nice 1 BR for less
