And if you doubt me I'll repeat there was 2 outs, why the hell wouldn't he be running home?

Was he not at least 3/4 of the way down the 3rd base line by the time the out was called at 1st?

It wasn't a force play. You can't make the last out at home. I'm sure he waited until the throw went to 1st to run.
