Welp....apparently Apple has cancelled my 9/19 iphone 6 order

WARNING: if you have a 9/19 ship date and haven't gotten shipping information you might want to call someone.
I pre-ordered with AT&T on 9/12 since Apples site was so screwed up. I finally got through on Apple.com after that and ordered with a 9/19 delivery date.
Apparently, Apple checked my upgrade eligibility before I was able to cancel with AT&T and took my phone off the shipment pallet. Apparently they weren't going to tell me about it either because it took an hour for Apples customer service to figure out what was going on.
I'm a little pissed right now. I got up at 3AM last Friday, fight through Apples cluster of a preorder process only to get a preorder that isn't going to happen. They basically said I was s*** out of luck. I would have to order now and see if *maybe* they can expedite it.
Between the live stream, messed up preorder process and now this, I think I've just about lost all confidence in Apple. Seriously going to start considering alternatives.

It's really a bunch of horse shite. Maybe it's because I'm pissed that Apple has wasted so much of my time for nothing, but I really don't even want the fricking phone anymore.
Normally, if something like this were to happen I would be here plotting out my launch day wait in line plan. But right now I'm watching reviews of the new Moto X and wondering if I should give the G3 another try.

Then you should find the 2AM thread full of people that did the same thing. You'll die laughing.

That really does suck, I say don't react out of anger, but I don't blame you for switching to another type of phone.

I won't make a decision today. I'll just watch some football tonight, go to work tomorrow and see how I feel tomorrow afternoon.
This is a great phone, but I really can't picture myself chasing after it when there are so many good alternatives out there and I'm not exactly in the mood to give Apple more of my money.

So you were so invested that you spent all that time, but an understandable shipping situation comes up during what anyone with half a brain realizes is a massive jolt to their shipping and receiving/order fulfillment process that means you can't get what you were going to invest a not exactly modest amount of money in on the very bleeding edge of "first" and you're so upset that you want another phone?
Geezus you seem like a huge bitch with zero perspective or ability to weave context into rational thought.
Just being honest.

Are you trying to say you wouldn't be pissed if you ordered something, received confirmation, then found out you were not going to get the order for 2 months because you need to start over? I call bullshite if you say yes.
Now should he be so pissed that he moves to a different product. That is a different question.
I have no problem with him being irate and once he settles down and remembers to drink the apple kool aid....he will be back in the warm embrace of the cult.

An "understandable shipping situation"? LOL. Maybe I sound like a bitch but you sound like a total retard.
Why couldn't Apple send an email saying that my order had effectively been nixed two days ago? You think that's "acceptable"?
This isn't a fricking shipping situation arse. This is Apple not getting the requisit info they needed to fulfill my order, and not only doing absolutely dick to either notify me or resolve the issue, but leading me to believe that the order was filled. Had I not inquired I would have been sitting here waiting for a phone that never got shipped.
So yeah, it pissed me off. I made a post about it (on a message board designed for stuff like that) because that's what people do around here. If that bothers you then you're welcome not to read it. The subject line was pretty clear.

That's always possible.
I'm really having a hard time seeing that happening though. I still feel like the 6+ is the best phone for me right now, but as a matter of principle, I try very hard not to reward poor service with dollars and this launch experience has been shitastic from start to finish.
I've always thought Apple was the absolute best when it came to the customer experience and service. I couldn't even say that with a straight face right now.

I hung in there with Apple because I trust Apple a hell of a lot more than I trust AT&T and mine is on schedule. I will be making sweet, sweet love to it in 24 hours.

Same here. I felt like Apple's ship date was more firm than the 12 that I got from AT&T
The irony is that I probably would have gotten the phone sooner had I kept my preorder with AT&T.

Out of curiosity, what time that night did your order go through with AT&T that night?
Apple didn't go live until around 2:18 and after being timed out 3 times I was processed at 2:28.

I was able to get another one from Apple at 9am on the 12th. It will be here tomorrow. While I do think Apple could have been quicker to let him know his order didn't go through, he could have called Apple to check on it a day after preordering it. It isn't Apples fault that he didn't have an upgrade available when he placed his order. That was his fault. Also, once he cancelled his AT&T order, it can take up to 48 hours to put his upgrade back(that is if AT&T did it right away).

The reason I blame Apple mainly is because their delay in opening their online store most likey led to the carrier stores getting flooded. its like the interstate collapsing and people jamming up the surface streets.
Also, it was 100% their responsibility to notify me Tuesday when they realized they had an issue with my order. Instead, they sat on their asses and just let me keep believing I was getting a phone on the 19th.

I just read the details of this thread. How is this Apple's fault? From what I understand you ordered through AT&T and the phone would have come from AT&T's allotted stock. Apple had nothing to do with it from what I am seeing.

One thing with ATT pre-orders is that they always over-estimate the shipping date, meaning you get your phone a lot earlier than they promise, happened to me 4 times now. Always at least 2-3 weeks earlier

Apple should have let him know, but everything before Tuesday is his fault.
