Oh noooooooezzz, socialism. frick that. Give me 6 weeks of vacation every year and my life would be immeasurably more enjoyable.Our country has gotten tons right, but we couldn't care less about quality of life.

Everything you just said is completely subjective and variable per the person, their experiences, education, demand for their profession, etc, etc.
But, you're right. I think being able to buy a TV for $1000 instead of $1300 is totally worth the shite vacations we receive, on average, compared to the rest of the world.
America: Where money is the most important thing. Ever. Where money is more important than having significantly more time to spend with one's family.
Money, money, money, moneyyyy. Moneyyyy.
