Do I go to a turnaround in Sweeney Texas 7-12s for 8 weeks at 21/hr and 75$ per diem?
Or do I stay home and see if I can't find something decent here?

You are underpaid for whatever you do. Our helpers make damn near that in Freeport, which sucks but is exponentially better than Sweeny/ old ocean.
