different age, different time, I would have been taken away from my parents and they would have been charged back in the day, they're some of the greatest people in the world and so am I

He did not "beating up" his kid. Same treatment I received at his age. It was only once and I did not repeat the stupid thing I did. I think it was about lying.

My opinion, setting incident in question aside, if medical attention required then you have definitely crossed the line. Marks, not including facial, happen from being spanked/whipped.
