the founders' idea of a militia is akin to the modern day national guard.
a modern day militia is usually a gun enthusiast group composed of people crazier than branch dividians.
my answer is no. if the shite hits the fan, we get invaded and duty calls, I'd rather go back into the army.

The modern day Guard is nothing like what the Founding Fathers envisioned or intended. There's far more centralized federal control over the Guard than they wanted.

The switch from State Militias to the National Guard was just one of a series of political moves (17th amendment was another example) by progressives designed to crush the individual states' power so the power of the federal government could grow. Their longterm endgame has always been the transformation of the US into a European style Socialist state. Yes, that's right, the process to turn this country "red" has been going on since the turn of the 20th century. Step by slow step, the progressives, or as some call them now "liberals", have patiently been working to slowly drag this country to socialism. They've just about got it now for all intents and purposes.

This.

When I was a child I played 'Army', 'Civil War', 'Cowboys and Indians'.
When I grew up, I put away childish things.
