Shouldnt the register fee just be like $50 plus the difference in sales tax rate. So sale tax in New Orleans is 9% while Houston is 8.25%. So if you bought a 30,000 vehicle then it would be 30,000 X .75%= $225. Seems like some of yall got screwed

Anyone know about registering in Alabama coming from Louisiana? I need to take care of this soon, I suppose.

Don't do it. There is no reason to do so. If ever questioned, which you won't, just say you have dual residence in both states. Nothing they will do.

Tell me more, tell me more. Been in Texas 2 years and still have La license and plates. Everytime I've been stopped I tell them I just moved here under 30 days ago. Bought a vehicle in Texas last year that had Texas plates, kinda hard to keep lying to the same cops.... Is having a dual residency legit??
