No leader needed for reds unless using braid then a fluorocarbon leader

I never used leaders for inshore fishing. I did use a swivel with a spoon though. I've always kept my rigs as simple as possible. For trout, a hook and a cork were all I ever needed. People make this stuff way more difficult than it is.

quote:I tie whatever I'm using straight to power pro. The only time I consider a flouro leader is if I'm in super clear water like Florida, or if I'm fishing top waters for trout, because I want a little stretch in the line so it doesn't tear out of their mouths. For reds, no worry with that. Keep it simple. Anything you add (swivel, leader, etc) is just something else to fail.
