One thing I have noticed personally is that a LOT of phones cram in unpolished or inconsequential features just to say they have it.

For instance, the other day we were talking about cell phone tech and someone with an new Samsung phone was going on about how biometric authentication wasn't really worth that much and she took the time to demonstrate it to me.

Took 4 attempts to do it.

iPhone one almost never ever gives me problems.

But the lead in was the thought that they were about the same in functionality because they both "had it."

Don't misunderstand, I am not a fanboy who is saying that features are only worth having till Apple deems us worthy of having it.

But I think that is a point that is getting lost in all of these "feature comparison" bullet points.

Take Quad-HD: it was probably held off less for a "stringing people along" (although that is definitely part), and more because it would have eaten up budget of the target price for something that doesn't add a lot to the phone.

3rd party estimates are that you need to be viewing a screen by less than ~6 inches at these sizes to see a difference between 1080p and QuadHD.
