In a game that close anything can be a factor. If Colston didn't fumble the ball we COULD have scored. If Brees didn't throw a pick and we had 3 or 7 extra points, we may have not had overtime (could have still been a loss), etc etc etc.

One thing I think we can all agree on though is that the road to perfection is going to be a lot longer for this year's defense than it is for our offense, based on the last performance. Every facet of the team has somewhere to improve early in the season, which is completely normal.
