I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I will draw a distinction between built-ins and wiring. A better corollary would be homes that have phone jacks in every room. Is it necessary with the rise of wireless home phones, or even no home phone at all? Of course not. Does having these phone jacks in the wall bother prospective buyers? I doubt it.
